This Privacy Policy explains how Rotector ("we", "our", or "us") collects, uses, and shares information in connection with your use of our detection system, browser extension, and related services. By using our services, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.
Important: Rotector is a community-driven initiative and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Roblox Corporation or Discord Inc.
Information We Collect
Roblox and Discord User Data
- Public Profile Information: Usernames, display names, avatar information, user descriptions, and other publicly available profile data from Roblox, Discord, and other platforms
- Connection Data: Publicly accessible friend lists, group memberships, and server participations
- Behavioral Patterns: Analysis of public activities and connections to identify inappropriate behavior
- Condo Server Participation: Membership and activity in inappropriate Roblox condo/porn Discord servers
- Discord Messages: Messages in inappropriate Roblox condo/porn servers, analyzed to flag users participating in such activities
Extension User Data
- Scanned IDs: Roblox User IDs and Group IDs collected from pages you visit (home, profile, friends, groups) to check their safety status
- Your Roblox User ID: Sent with extension API requests to detect and prevent abuse. This ID is checked in real time but is not stored permanently unless abuse is detected
- IP Address: Logged through our observability layer for request tracking and abuse prevention
- Settings Preferences: Your extension settings, stored locally in your browser
Technical Information
- Error Logs: Technical error information to improve service reliability
- API Usage: Request logs for performance monitoring and abuse prevention
How We Use Information
- Safety Detection: Identifying and flagging potentially inappropriate accounts through profile analysis, behavioral patterns, and Discord message analysis
- Automated Analysis: Collected data is processed by our detection system for safety purposes. No training is conducted using user information, and third-party provider data retention does not exceed 30 days depending on the provider
- Abuse Prevention: Verifying extension users and preventing misuse of our services
- Service Improvement: Analyzing usage patterns to improve detection accuracy
- Support: Responding to requests, inquiries, or appeals through our live chat
- Legal Compliance: Complying with applicable laws and legal processes
Data Storage and Security
Extension settings are stored locally in your browser and are not transmitted to our servers. When the extension checks a user's status, it sends the User ID to our API server. All data transmission is encrypted using TLS/SSL, and sensitive data stored on our servers is encrypted at rest.
We retain data only as long as necessary for the purposes described in this policy, or as required by law.
Data Retention
- User Profile Data: Public profile information, connection data, and behavioral analysis results are retained indefinitely for safety tracking purposes
- Discord Messages: Messages from inappropriate servers and analysis results are retained indefinitely for safety tracking. Third-party provider data retention does not exceed 30 days depending on the provider
- Scanned IDs: User IDs and Group IDs retained as long as necessary for service functionality and safety tracking
- Your Roblox User ID: Checked in real time with each API request but not stored permanently. Only retained if abuse is detected
- IP Addresses: Retained through our observability layer for request tracking and abuse prevention
- Extension Settings: Stored locally until you uninstall the extension or clear browser data
- Appeal Records: Retained for the duration necessary to process appeals and for legal compliance
- Technical Logs: Retained for up to 90 days for troubleshooting and security monitoring
While we process data deletion requests, the flag status of confirmed inappropriate accounts may be retained for safety purposes, as this serves a legitimate public safety interest.
Information Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or trade your information. We may share information in limited circumstances:
- Legal Requirements: To comply with applicable laws, legal processes, or government requests
- Safety: To protect our rights, property, or safety, or those of our users or the public
- Service Providers: With trusted service providers who assist in operating our services, under strict confidentiality agreements
- Platform Safety: With platform administrators (Roblox, Discord) when necessary for user safety
- Business Transfers: In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets
Your Rights
- Access: Request access to any data we have about you
- Deletion: Request deletion of your data through our live chat
- Correction: Request correction of inaccurate data through our live chat
- Appeals: Appeal any flags or decisions made by our system through our live chat
- Opt-Out: Opt out of all data collection by uninstalling the extension
You can also control what information is collected by enabling or disabling features in the extension settings.
International Data Transfers
Your information may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your own. We implement appropriate safeguards to ensure your data remains protected. By using our services, you consent to these transfers.
Children's Privacy
Our services are not intended for direct use by individuals under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe we may have collected information about a child under 13, please contact us immediately and we will take steps to delete such information.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy at any time. Changes take effect immediately upon posting with a revised "Last Updated" date. Continued use constitutes acceptance of the revised policy. In the event of a data breach affecting your personal information, we will notify affected users within 72 hours and report to relevant authorities as required by law.
