Agreement to Terms
By installing, accessing, or using Rotector's services, including our browser extension, detection system, and related tools ("Services"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, please do not use our Services.
Your use of our Services is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated by reference into these Terms.
Important: Rotector is a community-driven initiative and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Roblox Corporation or Discord Inc.
Description of Service
Rotector is a safety detection system designed to identify potentially inappropriate user accounts on Roblox and Discord platforms. Our Services include:
- A browser extension that displays safety status indicators for Roblox users
- Automated analysis of public user profiles, friend connections, group memberships, and behavior patterns
- Discord message analysis in inappropriate Roblox condo/porn servers to identify users engaging in inappropriate activities
- Developer APIs for integrating our detection capabilities
- A Discord bot and moderation tools for server administrators
- A queue system for community review of potentially inappropriate accounts
- An appeal system through our live chat for users to contest flags or request data changes
Our Services are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. Features and data may change as we improve our detection systems.
Use of the Service
You agree to use our Services only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms.
Acceptable Use
- Using our Services to identify potentially inappropriate accounts for safety purposes
- Reporting legitimate safety concerns through appropriate channels
- Accessing our APIs and tools in accordance with their documentation
- Participating constructively in our community and appeal process
Age Requirements
- You must be at least 13 years old to use our Services
- Users under 18 should have parental guidance when using our Services
Intellectual Property
Our browser extension is open-source under the GPL v2.0 license. However, the Rotector name, logo, branding, detection algorithms, compiled databases, and analysis results remain our exclusive property. You may not use our name, logos, or branding without prior written consent.
You retain ownership of any content you submit to us (such as appeals or reports). Fair use of our name for educational, review, or awareness purposes is permitted. Content creators may reference or discuss our Services for informational or promotional purposes.
Prohibited Activities
You agree not to:
- Circumvent, disable, or interfere with our detection systems
- Reverse engineer our algorithms or extract proprietary information
- Overload our systems with excessive requests or unauthorized automated tools
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems or data
- Scrape or mass-download our data
- Use our Services to harass, stalk, or harm individuals
- Share or distribute our detection data for malicious purposes
- Create false reports or appeals, or provide false information during the appeal process
- Abuse the "Queue for Review" feature with spam or false reports
- Impersonate other users or entities
- Use our Services in violation of any applicable laws, or the terms of service of Roblox or Discord
Disclaimers
OUR SERVICES ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. We do not guarantee service availability, uptime, or that our Services are free from bugs or errors. Our detection results may produce false positives or false negatives and should be treated as safety assessment tools, not definitive judgments.
User-Generated Content
When you submit appeals, reports, or other content through our Services (including through our live chat), you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, reproduce, modify, and distribute such content for operating our Services. You represent that you own or have the rights to submit such content and that it does not violate any third-party rights or applicable laws.
We reserve the right to remove any user-generated content that violates these Terms.
Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, ROTECTOR, ITS DEVELOPERS, CONTRIBUTORS, AND AFFILIATES SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF OUR SERVICES, INCLUDING LOSS OF DATA, REVENUE, OR GOODWILL, REGARDLESS OF THE THEORY OF LIABILITY.
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain damages, so some of the above may not apply to you.
Termination
We may terminate or suspend your access to our Services at any time, without prior notice, if you breach these Terms, misuse our systems, or if required by law. Upon termination, you must uninstall our browser extension and cease using our APIs.
You may terminate your use at any time by uninstalling the extension and ceasing to use our Services.
Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States, without regard to conflict of law provisions. If you have a dispute, please contact us through our Discord server or email. We will work with you in good faith to resolve it.
General Provisions
Severability: If any provision of these Terms is held invalid, the remaining provisions continue in full force.
Entire Agreement: These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Rotector concerning our Services.
Changes to These Terms
We may modify these Terms at any time. Changes take effect immediately upon posting with a revised "Last Updated" date. Continued use constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
